New Smoky Mountain Attractions in 2020

If you’re looking to make your Pigeon Forge vacation even more exciting, you need to include time for some amazing adventures!  With so many fun, family friendly activities to choose from, it can be hard to pick the perfect one. With new additions to the area opening soon, the list just got a bit longer.  To help you plan your Smoky Mountain getaway, here are a few new attractions opening in 2020.

360 Tower at Anakeesta

Anakeesta Observation Tower

While Anakeesta has three new additions planned for 2020, perhaps the most spectacular will be the 360 degree tower at the summit of Vista Gardens.  Scheduled to open this spring, the new addition will tower 55 feet above Vista Gardens and a total of 655 feet above downtown Gatlinburg. The Tower will offer 365 degree views of the Smoky Mountains and the chance to catch a glimpse of Kentucky on a clear day.

Outdoor Play Area at Anakeesta

Anakeesta Play Area

What better way to beat the heat this summer than by enjoying wading streams and cascading waterfalls?  You can do just that at Anakeesta’s newest expansion coming this summer. This family friendly play area also includes a fire pit to relax by while listening to live music.  With ample areas to relax and unwind, this is one spot you don’t want to miss on your visit.

Flying Theater Experience at The Island

The Island at Pigeon Forge will be soaring to new heights in early 2020 with its new Flying Theater Experience.  By combining a state-of-the-art ride system and a custom film featuring natural wonders and iconic landmarks, riders can experience the sounds, movements, mists and scents of an aerial adventure in an unforgettable way. This one-of-a-kind, immersive experience is one you’ll remember for years to come.

Double Decker Bus Tours

Your next visit to Pigeon Forge will have a brand new way to experience the Smoky Mountain area, Double Decker Bus Tours.  Opening December 23, 2019, this mobile attraction offers authentic, European buses with two levels of viewing, a tour guide pointing out the best places to visit and much more.  With 14 stops that provide a continuous loop from Gatlinburg to Sevierville and plans to add up to three more buses, stops and specialty tours, Smoky Mountain Double Decker Bus Tours is sure to add excitement to your visit in 2020.
